  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • Family Systems
  • Trauma Recovery
  • Addiction and Recovery
  • Life Transitions
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Self Destructive Behaviors
  • Relationship Issues

I  received my masters degree in applied behavioral science with emphasis in counseling from Bastyr University.

I started my career working with children and families. For the last 8 years I have focused on working  with adolescents age 13 and older, adults, and couples. I have worked in private practice, community mental health systems, intensive outpatient mental health and addictions treatment, and with the criminal justice system.

My work with you will be focused on your individual needs and who you are as a person rather than who I am as a therapist. I bring a variety of skills and experience that I can pull from to assist you in moving toward your goals. My clients find working with me to be a collaborative and interactive process. My approach is strengths based and focused on fostering your internal resources. Our beliefs about ourselves can become locked and limit our ability to realize the life we envision for ourselves. In our work we will help unlock the beliefs that are not helpful and allow you greater possibility in your life.

For those issues that feel inaccessible through insight or intellectual understanding, I have found EMDR can open a door. EMDR is particularly helpful in treating trauma but also can be used for many other conditions.  Please visit the EMDRIA.org website for more information.

I have worked with DBT both facilitating skills training groups and used the skills in individual sessions. DBT is helpful for people struggling with regulating their emotions (the emotions are running the show), distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT integrates mindfulness, acceptance and behavioral change skills. Please the www.behavioraltech.org website for more information.

Along with my work I also enjoy painting, kayaking, hiking, the arts and playing with my dog.
